Dr. Shimrit Maman

Research Associate and Director of EPIF, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev

Dr. Maman is currently a research associate at the Homeland Security Institute and director of the Earth and planetary image facility (EPIF), a remote sensing research laboratory at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. Maman is a remote sensing specialist. Her research deals with geographical information technologies, climate change and mapping. Maman is also a part of the research team leading BGUSAT, Israeli academia’s first nanosatellite, equipped with a SWIR camera it is used for Earth observations and via guidance system, allows the operators choose the areas to shoot and research through a dedicated ground station at EPIF
